This Weekend: Edmonton Motorcycle Show

Heads up, Edmonton-area riders: For the first time in literally years, the MMIC’s motorcycle show circuit is headed to your city! The Edmonton Motorcycle Show is running this weekend (January 26-28), the first time it’s come to town since 2020.

So what’s changed in the years since the COVID-19 pandemic? The show is back at the Edmonton Expo Centre (7515 118 Ave NW). Some of the names have changed, but this is still very much the Motorcycle & Moped Industry Council (MMIC) show, which means you get a wide lineup of manufacturers showing off their new-for-2024 models (and returning machines, too). There’s usually lots of gear on display, to try on or even buy, and racing organizations and other moto clubs typically have booths.

The MMIC site doesn’t tell us much about this year’s lineup of exhibitors, only that “On road and off-road riders, future riders, and lovers of the motorcycle and quad lifestyle will be able to check out some of the most anticipated models for 2024 including the latest electric vehicles.” What we can say is, we saw pix of the Vancouver show earlier in January, and it was packed.

We haven’t heard of any contests or prizes at this year’s MMIC shows, but there’s always something extra going on if you show up. PHOTO CREDIT: MMIC

Show hours are noon-9 PM on Friday; 10 AM-8 PM Saturday; 10 AM-5 PM Sunday. Note that ladies can get 2-for-1 ticket pricing on Friday night after 5 PM.

And speaking of pricing, the tickets are priced at $18.68 for adults this year (age 15-64); $13.55 for seniors (65+); $13.55 for students; $10.47 for juniors (age 6-14). Kids under 5 get in free with a paying adult. A family pack of tickets (two adults, two juniors) is $48.03.

  1. Question: Does Honda have on display Sport and Standard models above 500cc for 2024?

For example CBR650 and CBR650R, what about 750 Hornet great bike we didn’t get in 2023. Won’t even ask about 600RR…

So far none not on their web site.
