AltRider has introduced a new line of soft luggage for adventure bikes, with tankbags and a saddlebag.
The new Hemisphere system relies on roll-top closure to keep water at bay. The tank bag ($189.95 US) has an internal dry bag that keeps water out. There are dividers inside the bag to keep your stuff sorted. Interior space is 12 litres.
The matching soft panniers have 120 litres of storage. They come with four custom dry bag inserts that allow you to keep your stuff dry and sorted while on the road. There are also side compartments for sorting, and the bags come with a removable dry bag that straps to your rack or the tail of your motorcycle. They retail for $570 US.
Because not every dual sport rider wants a rack on their motorcycle, AltRider has also come out with a wraparound tail bag, similar to ones made by Giant Loop and other manufacturers. It comes with a custom-made compression sack that fits inside, allowing you to more easily stash your sleeping bag. The AltRider bag uses roll-tip closure to avoid leakage, and claims their stitching is taped and waterproof. The bag costs $398 US.
Because soft bags have a way of getting burnt while on a high-pipe motorcycle, AltRider has also come out with a universal heat shield for exhausts, for $29.37.
