Most BMW riders seem to have at least one thing in common: They love riding and hanging out with other Beemer Geeks. And this September 10-15, they’ll get the chance to enjoy doing just that at an all-new event out in British Columbia, the BMW Motorrad ADV-X rally.
Wot’s it all about?
The ADV-X is a Sunday-Friday adventure rally based out of the Sun Peaks Resort, which is in the hills northeast of Kamloops. The actual riding runs Tuesday-through-Thursday, with riders getting more than 1,880 km of adventure riding. The route is marked each day by lead riders and you get your own route sheet and GPS file to help you find your way. BMW offers tech support if needed, and there’s also medical support and help with luggage and tires if needed (BMW says it has multiple support vehicles there).
BMW partnered with Enduro Park Canada for this event, so it should be plenty of fun. But beyond the fun on the trails, there should be plenty of good times after the day’s riding is over, as each route begins and ends at Sun Peaks, with four dinners, five breakfasts and five lunches included. And when it’s all over, you can still relive the good times thanks to a feature-length video that’s going to be filmed at the event, as well as an event photographer on-hand to snap pics of the action.
BMW has two packages for the event, the Adventurer (single occupancy room, $5,395) or the Explorer (dual occupancy room, $4,895). And, they want you to know these details:
The BMW Motorrad ADV-X is open to GS riders of all skill levels. However, there are a few mandatory items that you’ll need to be part of the adventure.
