HRC has confirmed that 2007 MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner will ride on the factory Honda MotoGP team next season.

Stoner returns to Honda after four years with Ducati. He’d ridden with the Honda LCR satellite team in 2006, his first year in MotoGP.

HRC plans to continue with riders Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovisioso for 2011.

In an official statement announcing Stoner’s departure from Ducati, Ducati Corse general director Filippo Preziosi had praise for the rider, saying, "In Casey we not only found an incredibly talented rider, but also an honest and loyal guy and that’s why there will always be a strong and sincere bond between us, even as a competitor.”

This news fuels speculation that Valentino Rossi will move to Ducati next year, as the Italian team will have a vacant seat at the end of this season.
