Hey Look, It’s An Updated Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lineup! (And A New SP2)

Ducati’s Streetfighter V4 is closely related to the Panigale V4 superbike. It’s so closely related that Ducati’s just decided to give the Streetfighter most of the updates it just announced for the Panigale.

That might mean a bit more jam for owners in some markets, but probably not here in Canada. You’ll have to be happy with the standard 208 horsepower, sorry. But maybe you want less horsepower, because that’s an option with the updates? Like the Panigale, the Streetfighter now comes with power delivery modes, including Full, High, Medium and Low. In Low mode, you’re restricted to 165 hp for street riding, which is still a handful, although down more than 40 ponies on full zap.

Previous Streetfighter V4 models did not have a Wet mode, but that’s now been added as well.

Other electronic changes borrowed from the Panigale include a refined quickshifter that’s supposed to make it smoother to bang through the gears sans clutch. The engine braking control system is overhauled, and there’s a new track-oriented TFT dash configuration that is also borrowed from the Panigale V4. Like the Panigale, the Streetfighter gets the swingarm pivot mounted higher (to improve stability), and refined Ohlins NIX30 fork and TTX36 shock, with semi-active settings management.

Lots to see here, then, even if the internal mechanical bits appear to be basically unchanged! But there’s even more with the new SP2, which like the Panigale V4 SP2, is aimed at trackday fun. You get some carbon-fibre parts to cut weight (including the same wheels as the superbike), and you get updated Brembo Stylema R front brakes. Oh, and a STM-EVO SBK dry clutch, and if you want to pay for it, an Akrapovic exhaust that cuts 5 kg of weight and adds another dozen horsepower, boosting you to 220 hp. Just what you need for the big straight at Mosport.

Of course the V4 S Streetfighter model returns for 2023, and it’ll get the same updates as the standard Streetfighter.

Expect all the Streetfighter V4 lineup to be in Canada late this winter, or early spring. Pricing starts at $27,295 for the base model, going all the way to $47,995 for the SP2. More info at Ducati’s Canadian website.
