Bodhi Edie, formerly one of the fastest men in Canada, is returning to the Canadian Superbike championship this season.
Edie shook up the rankings a couple years ago with a surprise win over Jordan Szoke and Jodi Christie at the 2013 Mosport doubleheader, but hasn’t spent much time in CSBK lately. He hasn’t raced in Pro Superbike since that year. But he’s back for 2016, riding a new Yamaha R1 for Trip-Dub Racing and Z1 Tuning.
It’s a smart team-up for Edie, as Z1 has worked with some of CSBK’s more successful competitors in recent years (Andrew Nelson, Alex Welsh, Michael Taylor, and 2015 Amateur Superbike champ Derrick Whyte).
The 2016 CSBK season starts at Shannonville on the May 27-29 weekend, and Edie’s team plans to test before then to make sure they start the season right. They’ll have their hands full, considering 2015 champion Jordan Szoke won every single race last year.
