It’s been a long journey, but the CCM GP450 adventure bike is finally approved by Transport Canada.
The made-in-England (with help from Taiwain) GP450 was announced for our market in 2013. We’ve seen months and months of red tape holding up the import process since then, but now the bike will be here soon, either at dealers or drop-shipped to your door. The MSRP in Canada is $13,499.
To find a dealer, check out Motorsports Canada’s website here.
For details on the CCM GP450, check out our past coverage here. It’s a race-bred ADV bike with a 450 cc single-cylinder motor built on a BMW design. Remember the short-lived BMW G450X? When that bike ended production, the Asian factory started selling the motor to other companies, and CCM has tweaked it for their use.
It’s ironic that, at the same time the GP450 was confirmed here, the UK factory announced another version of the bike, the CCM GP450RS. This supermoto take on the machine has WP forks to accomodate wider street tires, and the bike comes with both a set of 17-inch wheels and the standard 21-inch and 18-inch wheels.

$13,499! HAHAHAHAHA! The manufacturer needs to cut the price in half.
that old bmw 450 motor the engine that killed husqavarna.
$13.5K is pretty steep. A BMW 800 GSA is $15K and their 650 GS single is below $10K. I expect it will also be more expensive than a 690 KTM and the 701 Husqvarna too.
It doesn’t make much sense to me, and as much as I like off road bikes and off road capable street bikes this one wouldn’t be on my list to choose from.
I can`t yet afford it but very good news and yes i would pay the extra for the quality involved.
“…yes I would pay the extra for the quality involved.”
.And what quality would that be?
High quality components, aluminium frame and hand built in the UK although that last detail might be irrelevant to you.
Are there enough people here into serious adventure bikes to pay that much more than the $7000 you need for a KLR 650?
LOl – oh yea!
