Ducati Scrambler accessories hitting the market

The Ducati Scrambler has been on the market for a few months now, and the accessory market is starting to catch up, with crash bars, seats. and other bits being announced for the model.

In marketing material, the Scrambler is portrayed as a motorcycle for fun-loving people who want to mix in a little off-road action once in a while. Ducati’s official accessory catalogue has plenty of bits to customize your ride, but not a lot to beef it up for more rugged use. However, the aftermarket’s working on that, and we should see these sort of products soon.

We do know SW-Motech has just announced a set of steel crash bars for the bike. Given the Scrambler’s chassis design, it’s hard to put together a set of bars that protect the exhaust and engine; these bars sit higher, protecting the fuel tank and other bits mounted above the motor. They’re made from powder-coated 22 mm tubing, and the MSRP in Europe is 179.

As far as aftermarket skid plates and the like, there’s not much available yet, but we understand Evotech Performance has developed an aluminum skid plate for the Scrambler (£74.99), an oil cooler guard (£39.99), a rectifier guard (£29.99) and various other sliders, all available at this site here. Of course, the problem is that you’ll have to figure out how to get those parts here from the UK.

Corbin has their Gunfighter and Gunfighter and Lady seats available for the Scrambler. Pricing starts at $393 US for the Gunfighter, with plenty of customization options available. The Gunfighter and Lady seat also has plenty of customization available, and pricing starts at $452 US.

For budget-minded consumers, Seat Concepts has a much more affordable option available for the Scrambler. For $164.99 US, you can get a new seat foam and cover (pan not included, re-use your old one). Their seat is taller at the tank to even out the “step,” and wider in the seating area, but is still narrow in front to make it easier to stand on the pegs.

There are several companies making flyscreens or windscreens for the Scrambler, including Dart ($124.95 US), Barracuda (€124.90) and Puig. Prices very wildly on the Puig screen, depending where you shop online; it can be found for as low as roughly £75 on eBay, to much higher, depending where you look.

It’s also our understanding that SW-Motech is working on plenty of other stuff for the Scrambler, including a set of leather luggage customized for the bike, with quick-release system. More of these accessories will likely be unveiled at EICMA.
