Video: See Casey Stoner’s Suzuka crash

Suzuka is all over but the cryin’, so now it’s time for the Internet experts to argue: Did Casey Stoner’s throttle really stick open, pitching the former world champ into the weeds? Or did he just ride off-track?

Check out the video below and see/hear for yourself for yourself. Stoner’s bike revs up at the 3-second mark, as he pulls his clutch lever in. Given that video evidence, and Honda’s official confirmation that yes, the throttle was stuck open 26 degrees, hopefully everyone can agree: The ex-MotoG GP champ didn’t pull a rookie mistake. All the detractors will just have to go back to finding other reasons for not liking him.

The question now is, will this be the last time we see Stoner racing? He was keen to spend time with his family when he left MotoGP. Considering he managed to crash hard in his first ride back in a real race, will he consider that enough punishment and hang it up for good? Or, since he handled qualifying and practice well and was leading the race at the time of his crash, will he instead be hooked and want back into the game?
