Here’s the official Dakar video recap from Stage Four.
Along with Sam Sunderland, who crashed and suffered an injured shoulder while hurrying to regain time after his Stage Two gaffe, a couple other riders also fell prey to injuries in Stage Four. British rider Chris Cork (Husqvarna) broke his wrist near the end of the day, and Guillame Martens (KTM) also suffered a shoulder injury earlier on in the stage.
Overall, eight riders dropped off the sheet yesterday. So far, that means 29 riders are out of the rally. Today’s first linking section is already underway. The 174-km connection route leads to a 458-km special, then a final 65-km link section.
