Randy de Puniet has finally landed a ride, but not in MotoGP.

After CRT team Aspar left MotoGP in 2013, de Puniet was left without a ride, ending up as a tester for Suzuki’s MotoGP project. Earlier this year, he was still supposedly up for a ride with Suzuki’s factory team when they return in 2015, but that’s out now – they’ve hired Maverick Vinales and Aleix Espargaro instead.

With no room at the factory MotoGP team, de Puniet has instead landed in World Superbike, with Crescent Suzuki. It’s a cagey move; not only does this keep him in the Suzuki tent and allow him to continue testing for the factory, but if there’s ever room for a wild card entry, hey – guess whose name would be at the top of the list?
