Leon Camier will be racing in the World Superbike championship again, at least for a while.
Camier has a temporary seat aboard a BMW, with Team Italia SBK EVO, after their regular rider Sylvain Barrier was involved in a car crash, receiving facial injuries. Barrier spent some time in a coma, and underwent surgeries. Now, Camier is filling in for him while he recovers.
Camier was originally inked to a deal with the Ioda team in MotoGP, but a funding shortfall torpedoed that plan. Now, he’s expected to fill in for Barrier until sometime in May.
