WSBK schedule released, and other gossip

Here’s the provisional World Superbike schedule, including the WSBK, WSS and STK series.

It could be subject to change still, especially with news that Spanish MotoGP organizer Dorna is now going to be overseeing the series (this was announced earlier in the month). The way that Dorna flip-flops on rule changes for the MotoGP series, it wouldn’t be that surprising to see them screw up the WSBK series. Hopefully fans of World Superbike won’t have to put up with the same constantly changing regulations that divide the playing field instead of equalizing it, but don’t hold your breath.

The biggest danger will be if MotoGP starts to view the WSBK racing as detrimental to their own series, and somehow designates it as a lesser race series for developing riders. Right now, WSBK racing is far more entertaining to watch than MotoGP; it would be a shame to see it relegated to sideshow status.
