The Daytona 200 will run again this winter, with a $175,000 purse.
There was a bit of confusion over the classic race’s future after MotoAmerica dropped it from the schedule last year, but the American Sportbike Racing Association assumed control of the event for 2015, and they’re running it again this year. And this year, they’ve managed to put together a purse totaling $175,00 in prizes.
First place will make $25,000, second place earns $20,000, third gets you $15,000. Even 40th will earn you $1,300. Whether that’s enough to tempt any Canadian entries or not is another matter. Canadians have taken their share of wins at the race, and a $25,000 payday might tempt a few back down south once more.
