Guy Martin to go for land speed record

Triumph motorcycles have bagged the popular Isle of man TT racer, truck mechanic, and TV presenter, Guy Martin to pilot its Rocket III Streamliner in a land speed record attempt in August this year.

The Streamliner uses two Rocket III motors, which have been turbocharged to produce more than 1,000 bhp, housed in a Carbon-Kevlar monocoque chassis that is 25 1/2 feet long, two feet wide and three feet tall. It needs to go faster than an eye watering 605.7 Km/h (376.4 mph) to gain a new record.

As usual, the attempt will take place at the Bonneville Salt Flats from 24-27 August. You can follow the shenanigans at TriumphLandSpeed.com and GuyMartinRacing.co.uk.
