Members of Kawasaki’s Superbike World Championship team, managed by Paul Bird Motorsports, have been caught up in a major drug bust, the UK’s Telegraph newspaper reports.

Four of the team’s technicians were arrested after officials inspected their trucks last month as they entered the UK, and allegedly discovered drugs and a handgun. This wasn’t a personal stash, either – the inspection supposedly revealed 18 lbs of cocaine, 157 lbs of amphetamine tablets, and over 220 lbs of marijuana, along with a pistol and 35 rounds of ammunition.

The four suspects are now out on bail, and we haven’t gotten an official word on the bust from anyone in the racing world yet, but we’re pretty sure that even if the team and its employees walk away from this incident without jail time, you’re going to see border crackdowns on race teams in Europe.
