Monster mash

Just right for city driving …

"Branding" seems to be as important as the motorcycles themselves these days; just look at the money Harley-Davidson and Ducati make from jackets, gloves, T-shirts, and other trinkets extolling the company name.

New from Ducati this year is a series of clothing designed to go with the new Monster 696.

The line covers the entire range from useful to frivolous … riding gear includes a classic-styled leather jacket, an open-face polycarbonate helmet that Ducati says is "perfect for city driving," and mesh-backed gloves "designed for street driving."

Off-bike wear includes a windproof jacket, belt, sweatshirt, sweater, T-shirt, singlet and cap. No word on a Monster bikini top, though.

  1. Dave – Floyd Robertson is probably related to Lloyd, otherwise how could he have made such a smooth transition from that dinky little station SCTV to CTV?

Rob & Larry – my comment was genuine but I did mean it to have a winky tone, and I am damn serious about more Ewan videos etc. to counter the boob shots linked to the Soapbox all the time. 🙂

  2. Hi Cathy,

Yes, a bit of a slow news day. What we try to do is have at least two news items per day. Of that, at least one meaty article and if required a more fluffy one as well.

However, we don’t want it to be too fluffy, which maybe this one was. Still working where that line is.

    Thanks for the feedback though.

    Cheers, Rob

  3. This story reminds me of the time I was watching Floyd Robertson on the CTV national news and he read a story about how every Starbucks outlet on the continent was closed one day for staff training. And I was impressed that Starbucks had gotten Floyd Robertson to read their press release over the national airwaves for them. Slow news day much? You could at least include links to videos of Ewan or something.
