Tokyo Show: Honda CBR250RR

Though only shown as a “prototype”, Honda’s new CBR250RR (otherwise known as the Lightweight Super Sports) is currently on display at the 44th Tokyo Motor show.

Sadly there’s no spec sheet but if you view the YouTube video that some kind soul put together of all the show shots, then you’ll see that it is a parallel twin engine (up from the single of the current CBR300R) with a  redline of 14,000 rpm.

USD forks, and a large single disc graces the front and the bike’s very aggressive styling suggests that this may be Honda’s answer to Kawasaki’s Ninja 300. Of course, that would mean that it would need a bump in cc’s for western markets, but it’s good to see the 300 wars keeping on the boil.

  1. I like the old 250rr way better. You know the one that had 4 cylinders. I hope one of the mfg’s take it serious enough to at least build a triple.
