Jordan Szoke will not be attending the Superprestigio of the Americas.

While Szoke tore up CSBK this year and certainly deserves an invitation to the flat track invitational, he says he can’t make it. It’s a pity, as the European version of this event is always a hoot, with roadracing stars hooning around a flat track all weekend and having the grandest of times (read more about it here), and it would be interesting to see Szoke battle it out with AMA stars. Although, since flat track is a way of life in the US and is nowhere near as popular in Canada, riders from up here do have a bit of a disadvantage.

This year’s Superprestigio of the Americas runs indoor in Las Vegas on Nov. 21, on the same weekend as the Pro Flat Track finals. Star racers from all motorcycle disciplines will be attending the event.

Szoke said that  it was an honour to be invited to the event, and he hoped to make it next season. Right now, he’s probably thinking more about the BMW Motorrad Race Trophy; he’s currently third-place in the running to win the prestigious international privateer’s championship. If he’d had better luck in his New Jersey AMA appearance (he was plagued by mechanical issues), or if there’d been more CSBK dates, he would probably be sitting atop the standings, but now he is sitting at 341.67 points, behind Roland Resch at 344.73  points and Matthew Lussiana at 374.81 points.

  1. I read elsewhere BMW wasn’t going to award him points for New Jersey anyway as it wasn’t his primary series. Unfortunate if that’s the case.

    • That was my understanding as to how the series worked, but I’m not sure, as it seems other competitors have aggregated points.

If that is indeed the case, he’ll likely have difficulty ever winning. The CSBK season is too short.
