Two big things happen in December: One is Christmas (or Hanukkah, or Festivus), the other is the Superprestigio. This year, you can watch it online.
For those who aren’t familiar with the Superprestigio, it’s basically a bunch of roadracing stars and flat track racing heroes hanging out, hooning around a dirt track in an exhibition race. It used to run on pavement, but after many years of dormancy, the event was revived last year as a day of flat track fun. This year, the race takes place in Barcelona, Spain, on December 13 (Saturday).
This year, Marc Marquez returns. Troy Bayliss, Tito Rabat, Jack Miller, Alex Rins, Alex Marquez, Mika Kallio, Bradley Smith and Scott Redding are also expected to attend. Flat track stars in attendance include Brad Baker, Jared Mees and Shayna Texter. Baker beat Marquez to win the last Superprestigio.
This year’s race will be broadcast over the internet, on Fanschoice.tv, where AMA flat track races are broadcast. Action starts at 12 p.m. (noon) EST on Saturday.
