Cornering ABS could be one of the most helpful electronic riding aids on the market, and now it’s available as a retro-fit option for more BMW models.
BMW has announced their ABS Pro system is now available as a retro-fit option for the 2012-2014 S1000RR superbike. Buyers can also retro-fit it to the HP4, the liquid-cooled R 1200 GS lineup from 2015 onwards, the 2015 K1600 lineup, as well as the S 1000 XR. Canadian availability and pricing for this upgrade hasn’t been announced yet.
I wonder if this is simply an upgrade to the ABS software, and signals a trend similar to “in app purchases” where you buy the basics and then pay for software upgrades to unlock certain features.
I can’t say for sure. What I SUSPECT it is, is a circuit board swap.
