AIMExpo has been sold to Motorcycle Industry Council

AIMExpo, the Orlando motorsports show that brought both industry and enthusiasts together under one roof, has been sold.

Starting in 2013, AIMExpo was an attempt to provide an EICMA-style show to the North American market. Instead of sequestering attendees away from the public and only inviting dealers and media, like some of the bigger North American shows did in the past, AIMExpo struck a compromise, same as EICMA, with industry invited for the first couple days to transact business, then opening the doors to the general public.

They ran their first show in the fall of 2013, and grew again for 2014, with some changes. Now, things are changing again in 2015.

For 2015, AIMExpo has been acquired by the US-based Motorycle Industry Council. The plan for the show is supposed to remain the same for 2015, and all the AIMExpo staff is coming across to work now for the MIC. The dates for the show remain Oct. 15-18, with Oct 15 and 16 being industry-only days. On Oct. 17-18 the show is open for the public.

There is no word yet on whether the sale will affect AIMExpo’s plan to open up a wider show circuit.
