Indian motorcycle lineup basically unchanged for next year

Indian’s 2016 lineup is basically unchanged from its 2015 series, except for paint.

Except for different colours available, and an ABS version of the Scout, the Indian press release mentions no upgrades for any of their bikes — the Scout, Roadmaster, Chief Dark Horse, Chief Vintage, Chief Classic or Chieftan. They do point out they had record sales again in this financial year, which probably explains the lack of changes. People seem happy to buy Indians just the way they are.

Unlike their sister company Victory, Indian has made no rumblings about moving towards sporty models. Instead, they seem content to offer an alternative to Harley-Davidson that can still keep the traditionalist happy, and if sales continue to boom, that’s likely going to stay the case for a while.

    • The ABS was a good start … but there are other options too. Look at Harley-Davidson. Despite the mockery, they have actually made quite an overhaul of their lineup in the last few years.
