Yamaha has shown an interesting new three-wheeler at Intermot, as well as given us a glimpse of a new sportbike.
The 01Gen leaning three-wheeler is just a concept machine at this point, but it points towards an interesting future. It takes a two-wheeled front end that’s similar to Yamaha’s existing Tri-City scooter and adds longer-travel suspension. In theory, this could be the first dual-sport trike.
Yamaha’s marketing copy says this machine is intended to be able to “cross a variety of terrain, both on and off the road.” Those tires on there hardly look like knobbies, though, and with a belt drive in back, it’s hard to see this thing tackling any tough ground in its current form.
You can see the 01Gen being unveiled below.
Along with the funky-looking trike, Yamaha also showed a video that promised a new sportbike coming on Nov. 3. Check it out.
