Polaris has made another interesting move.
In the last couple years, Polaris, the ATV manufacturer that owns Victory Motorcycles, has purchased Indian and also bought into electric motorcycle manufacturer Brammo, and has started a line of electric bicycles as well. Now, they’re getting into into four-wheelers, but not the off-road type.
Polaris’s latest deal gives them ownership of French company Aixam Mega S.A.S.; you’ve probably never heard of them, but they make on-road quadricycles and light duty commercial vehicles. Guess what? Most of the vehicles they make are either run on diesel engines … or they’re electric.
So what does the future hold for Polaris? It seems they’re betting heavily on battery-powered technology. Could an electric Indian be in the works somewhere? That’s a move that would certainly get fans of the brand very … charged up.
I am a big fan of Aixam an owned an Aixam 500 in the UK, will Polaris find the courage to import them to America … probably not 🙁
An advantage they have in the UK is that you can drive them on a motorcycle licence.
“…will Polaris find the courage to import them to America … probably not…”
They aren’t that stupid.
They already proved in the past being stupid by starting Victory amongst other things but they are showing more sense now. Obviously sense is not something you have.
Droll..very droll!
