The Toronto Motorcycle Show has changed its dates and location for 2014.
While the show used to be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in early December. Now, it’ll be held at the Direct Energy Centre’s Exhibition Place, in downtown Toronto. And, instead of running in December, it’ll go down February 21-23.
The Direct Energy Centre is Canada’s largest exhibition/convention space, with over a million square feet of space, so there’s plenty of room for the show to expand. The main question now is whether the North American Motorcycle Supershow (also held in Toronto) will have a greater impact on the Toronto Motorcycle Show, as it’s held earlier in January – it used to be a month later, when the Toronto Motorcycle Show had its original December date.
As well, the Toronto show used to be the big kick-off for the Canadian show season; now, it’ll come towards the end, if the other shows keep their same dates. That should shake things up a bit.
Just as well, as I thought about missing it this year with vendors and set-up not having much in the way of anything different from year to year it was getting a little stale maybe a new date and venue will help put some life back into it!
The Toronto Motorcycle Show needs to rejoin the Toronto Supershow so we the riders can have an “Everything Motorcycle” under one roof once again. Your magazine and other Canadian motorcycle publications should also push for a reunification of the two shows. It makes sense to have one big “Supershow” and save us the cost of 2 admissions.
