The Buell Deal
Yesterday, we told you Erik Buell Racing had signed a deal with Hero Motorcorp, but we didn’t know all the details at the time.
It turns out it’s a two-pronged arrangement; Buell is going to share R&D with Hero, and Hero is going to sponsor EBR’s AMA racing efforts through two teams, Team Hero and AMSOIL Hero.
If Hero has been thinking about entering the North American market, this is a very savvy move – not only will they gain the technology needed to produce bikes for this market, they’ll also be exposing thousands of fans to their brand at AMA events.

WSBK returns to Indonesia
The World Superbike championships is returning to Indonesia’s Sentul Circuit in 2013. It’s not just a rumour – the contract was signed a week ago.
Sentul hosted WSBK racing from 1994 to 1997. The return fits nicely into WSBK’s global expansion – with a Russian stop also added to the tour, the next stop organizers have their sights on is India’s Buddh International Circuit.

Laverty hopes to race opener
Speaking of World Superbike, this season’s opening race goes down this weekend at Phillip Island, and it seems Eugene Laverty is anxious to ride, despite his broken hand.
Laverty has been telling reporters his injured hand is feeling a lot better, with a week off the bike. He’s flown his doctor to Australia to help him work through the injury to be ready for the weekend’s race, but he says he doubts he’ll know if he’s ready to race until Friday.
