Ivan Silva has had wild card MotoGP starts before, but now he's racing in the big show as part of a Claiming Rules Team.

Team BQR (By Queroseno Racing) from Spain has announced that in addition to running Moto 2 and Moto 3 teams in 2012, they’ll also field a Moto GP outfit in the CRT class, using Kawasaki engines.

Ivan Silva (who’s had previous Moto GP wildcard starts and has Spanish and European Formula Xtreme titles to his credit) and Yonny Hernandez (two seasons in Moto 2) will be the riders. Silva is Spanish, Hernandez Columbian.

The team will be called Avintia Racing, after the chief sponsor Avintia Group, a big construction company.

No word on the chassis development yet, except to say in a press release that the project will be “developed entirely in Spain” despite the fact that the official entry lists the British FTR company …
