Want to improve your dual sport riding skills? If so, then head over to Duncan Motorsports Sept. 10-11 – they’re bringing in outside expertise to help you improve your skills.

Of course, not everyone can make the trip out to B.C. for an offroading refresher, but for the riders who sign up for that weekend’s course, it should be worth it. After all, the weekend’s instructor is Simon Pavey.

You may not recognize Pavey’s name right away, but he’s the head instructor of BMW’s Off-Road Skills training academy in the U.K., with hundreds of previous students, including Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor, so you know he’s good at what he does. He also ran the 2006 Dakar rally with Boorman as part of the Race to Dakar television series, and he actually finished, unlike his team’s other members. Of course, he had the advantage of previous experience running in the Dakar rally.

Pavey’s been racing off-road since 1981, so the course should help you gain some speed in the dirt. Course space is very, very limited, so if you want in, pay up now. The fee for the two-day course is $450.
