The AMA Supercross series comes to Rogers Centre in Toronto this Saturday night in the only non-U.S. stop on the schedule, and the race looks interesting. Take, for instance, Chris Pomeroy. The 37-year old from Shelburne, Ontario who retired from full-time racing in 2000, is going to be running as the oldest competitor in the field. In typical Canuck understatement, Pomeroy told the Canadian Press he’s just going to stay out of the series racers’ way and have some fun.


Albertan Josh Snider is the only other Canadian competing in Saturday night’s event at the Rogers Centre.


The battle between the race series’ big names should keep spectators on the edge of their seats. James Stewart and series front-runner Ryan Villopoto didn’t register any points last week, and according to Motorcycle-USA.com, Stewart may be riding injured.
Chad Reed with his upstart TwoTwo Motorsports is only seven points behind Villopoto, so the leader can’t afford to make any more mistakes.
Expect to see reigning series champion Ryan Dungey play hard for a win as well. He hasn’t had a win on his Suzuki yet this year, and that’s got to be weighing heavily on last year’s champion.
