Last month, Honda had an electric dirt bike on display at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show, and now we’ve got video of that bike in action.
The prototype on display at Tokyo looked basically identical to a machine from Honda’s skunk works partner Mugen. Mugen originally displayed its bike a couple of years back, and this year, displayed an updated version of that machine as well.
Now, we’ve got footage of the new battery bike in action, doing some test laps at a round of the All Japan Motocross Championship. While the slow-speed flybys are unlikely to convert the hardcore two-stroke hooligan crowd, the footage at least shows the bike actually works, and we’re sure we’ll see more on this machine in the months to come.
Imagine going to a motocross race and all you hear is that whining from all the bikes? Weird.
Any word if this has an 18″ or 19″ rear wheel? Would love to see an 18″ XC/enduro version!
