Alberta company plans to bring line of Canadian-built bikes to market

WC Distributing has announced it’s planning to sell a new line of Canadian-built motorcycles.

Edmonton-based WC Distributing has been quiet for a few months; previously, it sold the Johnny Pag line, and that situation didn’t end well, with both WC Distributing and its customers unhappy with the quality issues and resulting moves by the Chinese manufacturer. But with that storyline ended, WC Distributing still had plenty of interest in getting back into the motorcycle business, and now it’s come up with a new plan.

Starting in November, WC Distributing plans to unveil a new line of motorcycles built in Canada. According to an email from the company, it plans to introduce the first bike in November. It’ll have a 1638 cc V-twin motor, and be known as the Irv Special 100. That bike will be on display at the Edmonton and Calgary motorcycle shows this winter, so you can see it in person if you live handy to either of those events.

According to Sven Bernard of WC Distributing, the Irv Special 100 will only be the first model they bring to market; he also says the company plans to introduce a mid-size cruiser and a cafe racer next year, as well as a ’70s-style trike in 2018, with its own made-in-Canada inline four-cylinder. Bernard says this motor will be produced in-house. It will have liquid cooling and EFI, and come in a 750 and an 1100 version.

Bernard says,  “All our bikes will sport a Canadian VIN and all our bikes are produced in Canada by Canadians.”

The bikes will carry the Williams Customs badge; the first model will officially launch November 19 at Black Jacks Roadhouse in Nisku, Alberta. For more details, keep an eye on the maker’s website here.

  1. “WC Distributing” doesn’t sound like much of a brand name for a hot new motorcycle. Maybe they should try something with a bit more excitement. I understand “Skully Cycles” may soon be available…
