Polaris Slingshot: Stop sales, stop riding

Polaris has issued two “stop sale and stop riding” notice letters for the Slingshot three-wheeler.

Polaris published a letter on the Slingshot Forum and also sent a letter to their dealers asking Slingshot riders (or is that drivers?) to refrain from using their vehicle until the machine gets two updates. Polaris says ball bearings in the steering rack assembly may be defective, and should be replaced. The company also says some roll hoops (located behind the seats) may need replacement, after a supplier warned them the parts might not be up to spec.

The necessary parts for the upgrades are supposed to be available at dealers this week; until then, Polaris wants their customers to “Please refrain from operating your vehicle.”
