Are you headed to the “Mosport Round” of the Canadian Superbike championship? The CSBK circus heads to Bowmanville, Ontario for the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park triple-header round on August 18-20, and Kawasaki is coming along for the ride. And, so can you!
Historically, Kawasaki has often held street demo rides, giving potential buyers a chance to try its lineup—but COVID-19 made that complicated/impossible. But now, the demo rides are back, with two days of test rides at the CTMP round.
This event is only for street bikes. Kawasaki is bringing the new Ninja ZX-4RR, which will no doubt be of particular interest, considering the venue. Other machines available for demo rides include the Ninja 650 and Ninja 400 sportbikes—sorry, no free runs on the ZX series for you! But other powerful machines are available for testing, including the Z H2 SE and Z900 SE nakeds. The Z650 and Z125 Pro also appear, along with the Z900RS Cafe, Z650RS and W800 retros. Both the fully-loaded KLR650 Adventure and the bare-bones KLR650S Non-ABS models are available. If you want to try a foot-forward machine, the Vulcan 1700 Vaquero, Vulcan 900 Classic LT and Vulcan S cruisers are all on-site as well.
Test rides run Friday, August 18, 1-4 PM and Saturday, August 19, 10 AM-4 PM. Kawasaki says “Access to the demo rides is offered to CSBK ticket holders aged 18 y.o. and up,” but you must have a full M driver’s licence (no beginner licences!), and you must have full gear (proper boots, a helmet, jacket, gloves and long pants). There will be a pre-ride safety briefing, and riders must sign a waiver, of course.
