Trystan Hart bags third at the Erzberg Rodeo!

Canadian boy Trystan Hart has done good, with a third place at the Erzberg Rodeo hard enduro!

Actually, Hart’s been doing well outside the country for a long time—he’s been riding AMA EnduroCross, Extreme Off Road and other classes in the States for years now, and winning lots of hardware (he was the 2021 hard enduro champ in the AMA, and also leads the standings this year). The last time we had an Erzberg Rodeo in 2019, he ended up fifth overall in a race where finishing at all is a major accomplishment. See the video above for proof!

This year, the FIM-sanctioned hard enduro saw only eight riders finish, with German rider Mani Lettenbichler finishing first on his factory KTM, and Spanish rider Mario Roman finishing second overall (three minutes, 26 seconds back), unable to quite close the gap, despite getting very close.

And then Hart was third overall, thirteen minutes and two seconds behind the winner.

It’s a big deal for the British Columbian, and shows what we’ve always known: Canadian enduro riders have the capability to ride with the best on the planet, if they’re given the right opportunities.

Hart might be given some more of that opportunity this year, as he plans to ride four rounds of the FIM’s hard enduro series. That won’t be enough to put him atop the standings (which British rider Billy Bolt leads; Bolt finished fourth at the Erzberg Rodeo). However, it will attract international attention at least, and hopefully open more doors for Hart, who is probably ready for a new challenge after his AMA victories.
