Harley-Davidson plans July reveal for the 1250 Custom

When Harley-Davidson first unveiled its Revolution Max 1250 platform, the biggest news was the Pan America adventure bike, but we also saw mock-ups for a new cruiser, the 1250 Custom. Now, the MoCo says that we’re going to see the new bike in July.

H-D plans a “global reveal event” for the new bike on July 13 … and that’s about all we know. Reportedly, the new 1250 Custom will have similar engine output to the Pan America, so expect in the ballpark of 150 hp and 94 lb-ft of torque. Nice! Certainly a lot mo’ powah than any cruiser in Harley’s current lineup. The liquid-cooled V-twin should have variable valve timing and a lot of other technological wizardry, pushing the engine to max power and efficiency.

You can see Harley-Davidson’s initial concept version of this bike below. Expect some significant chassis improvements to handle that power boost, and also improved electronics (leaning ABS and traction control, etc.). Or maybe not—note that there’s only a single brake disc up front. We’ll know more in mid-July, either way.

  1. Everytime I see those high side pipes I keep hoping for more of a flat tracker than another crusier .
Especially if the engine is close to the reported 150 hp!
    I guess we’ll see July 13.
