Ryan Pyle and his brother Colin first made history (and a Guinness Record) for a trip around China, filmed for the English-speaking market. Now Ryan Pyle has switched that scenario around, and is working on a Canadian trip for China.
The Brothers Pyle first made headlines in 2010, when the y set a record for the world’s longest continuous trip inside a country (they did a 17,674-km ride inside China’s borders — the photo above shows them mid-trip). Since then, they’ve done other similar overseas trips by bike, and now Ryan Pyle is on the road again, filming another ride.
But this time, he isn’t in Asia, filming for the English-language market; he’s in Canada, filming for the Chinese market. Pyle is working with another rider (Lu Fei , not his brother Colin) and videographers Chad Ingraham and Daniel Milton) on a trip across Canada, from east to west. The finished product is intended for Travel Channel China.
It’s an interesting twist on Pyle’s previous formula, but also a smart one, as he and his team have years of experience working with the Chinese market, yet can offer an insider’s look at Canada as well. Also, despite their team’s globe-wide travels, it’s the first time some of them have seen the whole of their own country, as Ingraham told the CBC here. They’re on the road until the end of July, so there’s a good chance some of our readers might run into them on their travels.
I did see them! Tammy Perry remember those bikes and white van at Cape Engage, that must of been them
Yes, we knew there was something like that happening! Too funny. We should have stopped and said hello. We have to get over our shyness Charles Landry lol
