Summerside will get a new motorcycle rally this summer, running July 24-26.
After three years of pulling in two-wheeled tourism into the city Atlanticade has pulled out of Summerside and is moving back to Moncton for 2015. As a result, the city’s brain trust has gotten together and announced SummeRide Bike Rally, running a little later in July.
According to the Journal-Pioneer’s piece on the new rally, the event will run around the same time as a few of the town’s other long-standing tourism attractions, such as the Lobster Festival. Details on the rally schedule are slim at the moment, but there’s a show ‘n shine planned, as well as the ubiquitous poker run. There’s also some sort of dinner planned with Jimmy Flynn as entertainment, if that’s your thing.
More details are supposed to come out later this week.
