Friday Fudge

Welcome to Friday Fudge. If it’s weird, funny, or strange motorcycle news, or it just plain won’t fit anywhere else on the site – you’ll find it here.

Sleeping on the job

We all know the stereotypes about European civil servants: They supposedly only work about three months of the year after you add up all their vacations, and they nap through half of that time on the job as well. Of course, that’s not true – most Euro government employees actually work four months of the year, and nap only a third of the time on the job …

Two Italian government employees – specifically, a pair of police officers – decided they’d catch some shuteye on the job recently, but it ended up backfiring. These Keystonian cops thought that, after the laborious task of setting up a speed camera, they’d grab 40 winks while it racked up fines. Except, the plan went wrong: While Starskini and Hutch slept, some quickwitted, public-minded individual stole their camera. Nobody knows where it’s at, but it’s odd – despite the drop in enforcement, we haven’t heard any reports of the streets of Rome becoming more dangerous than usual. Maybe that’s because it’s basically impossible for that to happen?

Ichiban Moto motors on

You have to respect Ichiban Moto. Despite the busyness of the Christmas season, the dude keeps handing out useful tips, like the ones in the videos below. The first shows how to install a disc lock on your motorcycle, to avoid theft. The other video is pretty handy if you want some tips for your lunch break in the middle of an all-day stint in the workshop. Is there nothing this hands-on genius can’t do?

Cubs gone wild

So, apparently, it’s a thing to race cub-style motorcycles in Indonesia. Hey, that’s probably a more realistic series than a certain 1200 cc spec series that ran in CSBK until recently … but we digress. Here’s what happens in that series when things go awry. Thankfully, crashes aren’t as severe when you aren’t aboard a superbike.

V12 madness

We’re not sure what’s more amusing: The fact that some insane clown built a motorcycle around a Lamborghini engine, or the non-English speaker struggling to describe it.
