Friday Fudge

Welcome to Friday Fudge. If it’s weird, funny, or strange motorcycle news, or it just plain won’t fit anywhere else on the site – you’ll find it here.

Luc1 returns

Every year, French supermoto team Luc1 puts out an end-of-season video to thank their sponsors, and it’s always enjoyable. This year is no different, starting off with a whacky time-travel story, then fast-forwarding to some very very wicked supermoto action.

Lawn work

It’s official: Honda is the fastest manufacturer. We’re not talking about motorcycles, though, at least not entirely.

A while back in Friday Fudge, you may remember we told you about Honda building the world’s fastest lawnmower. Well, Big Red has finally gotten around to getting official confirmation of this feat.

The mower, powered by the 1000 cc mill from a Honda VTR Firestorm, managed to register a 187.60 kph top speed in the IDIADA Proving Ground in Spain, topping a previous Guinness record. And, it will still cut grass – it just does it really, really fast.

Monkey do

Honda isn’t the only bunch of madmen pushing slow vehicles past their limits these days. Check out Project Napier, aka, the world’s fastest monkey bike. We’re talking turbocharging here, folks. This is probably so much fun, it should be illegal. In fact, we bet that if fun-hating politicos saw it, they’d probably make a law against it immediately – or else throw a leg over it for a photo op during campaigning. Gag.

Close call

We’ve seen more than a few videos of trackday saves on YouTube. This is one of the best.

Russian invasion

The soundtrack for this YouTube clip sounds like something from a 1970s Japanese motorcycle commercial; all it’s missing is a skinny kid in Levis and an open-faced helmet riding along on a KZ400 or CB350, curly locks flowing in the breeze.

Instead, we get a crazy Russian dude who’s built himself a go-anywhere 2wd motorcycle. Is that progress or not? Judge for yourself on that one.
