Kawasaki has unveiled an upgraded version of their popular KLR650 adventure bike at the New York International Motorcycle Show.
Dubbed the “New Edition,” this KLR looks pretty similar to the old one, and won’t replace it – it’ll run side-by-side in the lineup. Details are sketchy as to what’s actually changed on the machine, but it seems there’s a new seat and upgraded suspension.
Motorcycle.com is reporting the seat is narrower at the front, and lower, and there’s firmer springs and rebound damping in both front and rear suspension. Brakes remain the same, as does weight.
In the US, these upgrades will only cost an extra $100. Team Green (the bike is actually available in green, white and grey/black) is charging $6,499 for the machine in the US. We don’t know yet if it’s coming to Canada, or what the MSRP will be if it does.
