We regret to report that we’ve been informed that Amateur Superbike racer Christian Auger, injured in a single-bike accident when he crashed at high speed at the end of the straight during the second Mopar CSBK race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park August 11, has succumbed to his injuries.
Auger crashed at the end of turn eight.
We wish to extend our sympathies to his family, relatives, and friends. If you can read French there are more details here regarding the circumstances and memorial arrangements.
My thoughts to his friends and family. We should all be so lucky to live our dreams; even if someday it means our demise.
My condolences to Christians family. I was at the track that day but I did not see the crash in question, but as far as I am concerned this track is extremely dangerous for motorcycle racing, I wouldn’t run a trackday there on a pocketbike.
If the decision was yours… would you stop the Isle of Man TT as well? I’m sure that every racer enjoys the rewards and is aware of the risks. My hat is off to him. Honour what he he stood for. Don’t let the nannies win.
