Triumph may be considering an electric motorcycle project, U.K. website Visordown suggests.
The speculation comes after Triumph apparently posted a survey online asking riders what sort of range they’d need from an electric motorcycle, and what power-to-weight ratio they’d be interested in.
Visordown points out Triumph’s Daytona chassis has already been used in a couple of electric motorcycle racing projects from outside developers. Now that the Isle of Man TT has an electric race that has interest growing, Triumph could build a machine that beats everyone else on their home turf and establish themselves strongly in the electric market, while other manufacturers simply play with the idea.
