Faster and Faster is reporting the Fireblade will have fly-by-wire technology to likely go along with ABS and a traction control system. They say the technology – which runs throttle inputs through a computer to determine how much fuel to give to the engine, based on which gear the bike is in, the rpms, air temperature, crankshaft position, and more – will be fitted to the 2012 street version of the Fireblade.
Castrol Honda says the new systems make the bike much easier to control; they start testing with riders Jonathan Rea, Ruben Xaus and Makoto Tamada at Misano very soon.
