Craftsman presents Buell

The presenter is a bit of a tool (a Craftsman no doubt) and there's the obligatory 16 year old thrashing on a guitar sound track, but it is free TV.

Do you crave a motorcycle television fix? Does your local bush cable television station insist on broadcasting fourteen fishing shows every Saturday while ignoring the two-wheeled transportation demographic?

Well, check this out – Craftsman, the Sears in-house tool brand, is presenting a video mini-series on bikes, and you can watch it online.

The mini-series kicked off with a 52-minute video about iconic American motorcycle designer Erik Buell and his career in the industry.

It’s a great chance to see one of North America’s motorcycle innovators talk about how he started his career, and where his creations are headed now that Harley-Davidson has cut him loose. Racer Geoff May also appears to discuss Buell’s exotic two-wheeled creations.

If Buell’s work doesn’t strike your fancy, or you want more video, just wait – the series’ second instalment comes out April 15 with a show about the Daytona 200 race, and the pit stop work that goes into keeping the bikes in the race. The last instalment comes out April 29; it will focus on hop-up techniques for motorcycle engines.

The shows will originally broadcast live over Facebook; you can check out Craftsman’s Facebook page for more information, but be warned, they’re going to ask for a bunch of personal information before you can watch. If you don’t like that idea, just wait; the shows will probably be uploaded to YouTube a few days later, where you can watch them hassle-free.

That’s what we did, and you can too – see the video below.
