Canadian MV Agusta importer Motovan has announced another model for 2011, the Brutale 1090R.

The 1090R, at $16,695, is the lowest priced of the Brutale family, which also includes the 990R ($16,995) and the higher-spec 1090RR ($18,995). Motovan claims the 1090R will be exclusively available in Canada.

The 1090R uses the same frame as the other Brutale models but gets its power from the 144 horsepower, 1,078 cc inline four of the 1090RR.

Chassis geometry is also borrowed from its Brutale brethren, but suspension settings are softened to appeal to a wider range of riders than just back-road kamikazes. MV seems to have raided the parts bin, using two-piece Brembo calipers instead of monobloc items, and heavier cast wheels instead of the forged hoops on the RR.

Motovan recently announced that parts and accessories retailer Royal Distributing and Kahuna Powersports, both in Ontario, would carry the MV Agusta line. Motovan also appointed The Dukes of Cycle in Toronto as its first authorised service centre.
