Bikes on the Lawn at McPherson College

Students at McPherson College can now major in vintage motorcycle restoration by enrolling in a four-year program, which is an offshoot of the facility’s Automobile Restoration Program.

Motorcycle restorer Roger Stout is responsible for getting the program off the ground and is the current instructor for the course.

Being a new program, there is currently only one course available, but more courses are said to be available in spring of next year.

The college has acquired a 1965 Honda Dream 305 and a 1970 BSA 250 and staff are looking for pre-1970 Harley-Davidson, Triumph and Indian motorcycles.

Located in McPherson, Kansas, the college is the only school to offer a major in vintage motorcycle restoration in North America.

To celebrate the new program the college held a "Bikes on the Lawn" motorcycle show on Saturday, September 25.
