Intermot: BMW S1000XR retuned

The BMW S1000XR has received minor adjustments for 2017 that will boost horsepower and make it more comfortable to ride.

Along with improved emissions ratings, the new S1000XR also makes 165 hp (up from 160 hp). It also has a redesigned handlebar mounting system that supposedly reduces vibration; one wonders if this should be necessary on an adventure tourer sporting an inline-four engine (surely smoother than BMW’s GS with twin-cylinder engines). However, the S1000R got this update as well, so it may have been easier just to include the upgrade now, instead of waiting for Beemerphiles to demand it.

Aside from those tweaks, most of the S1000XR seems to be relatively unchanged for 2017.
