Spied! BMW’s new mini-adventure machine, the G310GS

For a while, we’ve known of BMW’s plans to release an adventurized version of its new G310 platform. And thanks to an Italian mag, now we know what it looks like.

Motociclismo has published a gallery of spy photos of the new G310GS (we presume that’s the bike’s name). You can see the photos here; obviously, it’s not intended for the same offroad manhandling as the 650, 800, and 1200 cc models; those cast wheels are a dead giveaway that the styling is probably as adventurous as this bike gets. But we’ll withhold final judgment until we see suspension specs, and find out whether spoked wheels are available.

The reality is, much of the global motorcycling community cannot afford a big-bore GS, and if this machine keeps them happy, that’s a mission completed.

  1. They need to come with something more serious than this, either sort the wheels or offer a proper adventure version as well.

  2. Adv.’s are always fitted with panniers and trunk. They should lengthen the wheelbase. Also., the subframe should bolt on. Otherwise.., a crash that bends the subframe (panniers) will make the entire frame a writeoff.
