Motus meets the side-by-side

We’ve talked about Motus, their made-in-America MSTR sport tourer, and it’s baby block V4 motor before — read about it here. We’ve even told you they thought about selling the engine on its own as a crate motor. But is that a realistic plan?

See for yourself in the video above. That’s what happens when you take Motus’ motor and drop it into a Polaris RZR XP 1000 Turbo (hardly a wimpy rig in its own right). The result, when raced against a stock model? Total domination.

These days, a lot of interesting custom bikes are put together by factory-sponsored builders (see Roland Sands, and all the stuff he’s been up to in the past year). It’s hard to see Motus having the cash to sponsor such a build utilizing their platform, but it would certainly be intriguing to see what would happen if independent builders started purchasing the V4 baby block motor to power their own mad projects. That’s a lot more exciting than the prospect of seeing yet another bike powered by an S&S V-twin off the shelf.
